Production schedule
When the mold design is completed, we will have another
meeting. Again, the meeting will be held by the project
manager to fix the production plan. In the meeting, we
work out the process the mold to go through and the time
each step of the process starts and completes. The
production schedule will then be passed on to
corresponding machining groups and rooms and added to
their own production plan. At the same time, a project
coordinator will be appointed to coordinate and watch
over the whole project.
In-process quality control
The project coordinators are supposed to watch over the
whole process. They are supposed to report to the
manager whenever problems arise or whenever a procedure
is leaked out. Say, they will report to the project
manager when they find some copper electrodes are not
measured as requested. And, the manager will meet the
foreman and related technicians to decide what measures
are to be taken to fix the issue.
In addition, the coordinators are also supposed to
ensure the whole process is on schedule.
Communication with customers
Thousands kilometers ways from us, customers are always
concerned on the project status. To ease their concerns,
we established a smooth communication channel between
us. In addition to daily E-mail communication, we also
contact each other through phones call.
Generally, for each project, we have, at least, one
person in close contact with our customers. And, this
person will be there to update customer of the current
status and pass on customer's comments and suggestions to
corresponding department in Auto-mould. And, of course,
whenever needed, conference call will be held to fix
some urgent, tough problems.
Listed below is what we will submit to customers for
status update.
a. Tooling schedule
Before cutting steel, we will submit a Tooling Schedule
to our customers to inform you of the arrangement on the
whole process.
b. Weekly update
Each week, we are supposed to submit a Weekly Report
to keep customers updated of the status. And, the report
will be submitted together with some pictures.
Sampling and verification
After mold is completed, we come to sampling and
verification stage. Generally, trial run is done with
the presence of engineers or technicians from customer's
company. They can inspect the whole trial run process
and approve the samples or find out whatever to be
improved. And, after discussion, we will make
modifications as requested.
If customer is absent, we are supposed to submit sample
as well as dimension inspection report for
verifications. In addition, a Molding Setup List as well
as video is also supposed to be submitted.
For custom molds going overseas, this is the last chance
that the mold can be changed to fulfill your change in
product design. So, generally, both sides place great
importance on it.
